No stranger to invention, ANCORP welcomes a second round of patent-protected valve developments to our high vacuum ball valve line. Our latest development, Heat-Thru technology, improves heating efficiency for coating, etching, and abatement systems by eliminating the cold spot commonly found in balls of heated ball valves. Heat-Thru technology is now available as an option to all Multiport valve configurations and is a testimony to ANCORP’s commitment to empowering the future of science and technology by bringing the best heater-optimized ball valve to market.
Proven to eliminate the pesky cold spot found in other ball valves installed on major OEM abatement tools.
Heat-Thru Technology
Designed for High Temperature Performance
Exclusive to ANCORP valves, Heat-Thru technology works with the Extended Life (XL) stem seal patent to further reduce heat flux through the valve stem and eliminates the dreaded cold spot created from inefficient industry-standard heating designs. This new technology features specialized internal components and a proprietary, thermally conductive vacuum grease mixture to transfer heat efficiently from your system’s heating element through the valve body to the ball. This results in a heater-optimized ball valve—efficient heating of the fully ported ball prevents byproduct buildup and deposition inside the ball, thus reducing costly maintenance and downtime.
Further heat optimizations can be unlocked through the use of FFKM O-rings as a sealing material. When configured with standard FKM O-rings, the Heat-Thru multiport valve has a maximum temperature rating of 150º C. Additionally, with an FFKM O-ring, the Heat-Thru multiport valve gains a maximum temperature rating of 180º C.
Improving Heating Efficiency Up To 100%
Reducing byproduct buildup just got easier by taking advantage of ANCORP’s newest ball valve design! Established testing of this valve under various temperature ranges confirms its revolutionary power in systems where heating efficiency is a priority.
ANCORP valves with Heat-Thru technology improve several metrics related to valve performance.
When looking at heating speed, Heat-Thru multiport valves experience on average a 30%-50% reduction in time for the ball to reach set point temperatures than standard ball valves. In comparing energy consumption related to heating the ball valve, the Heat-thru valve uses 33-50% less energy on heating than the average heated ball valve.
While these benefits combine to create a solution that is undoubtedly impressive, the largest development witnessed in valve testing is a breakthrough in energy consumption. When compared to the demands for the same increase in ball temperature, the Heat-Thru multiport valves exhibit 50-100% more efficiency than standard ball valves, confirming the completion of our goal: to alleviate the pain points of our customers and improve their processes.
Unlimited Potential for Customization
The multiport valve is a versatile solution to tackling multi-way flow for vacuum systems. Whether a 3-, 4-, or 5-way flow, multiport valves are an easy drop and replace for systems especially when considering their highly configurable nature with options for body port configuration, actuation, ball port, and ball position. This versatility now reaches farther than ever as valve types expand to include a Heat-Thru option.
When configuring your 3-way, 4-way, or 5-way valve, simply choose HT for Heat-Thru for valve type if you want to take advantage of patent-pending technology for optimizing your heated ball valve. For high temperature applications, ensure proper compatibility by selecting FFKM seals, rated for a maximum temperature of 180°C.
